Tortoise

Tortoise is a fresh and modern California based store that focuses on bringing to the forefront modern Japanese housewares. With an eye for clean lines and quality materials the husband and wife team behind Tortoise have curated an amazing selection of goods that you won't find elsewhere. With a motto of "long and steady" Tortoise continues to add to their inspiring collection. Check them out online or if you are in the Venice area, visit their storefront @1201 Abbot Kinney Blvd. Click here for the cheese dome featured above.

Beautifully crafted ornament made from traditional wood block printed fabric and rice husk. Very original and painstakingly constructed. I love the color palette and assorted animals available. Adorable.

Humorous bonsai puzzle for those that might be green thumb challenged! Made out of recycled paper by LA based Japanese artist, Joji Okazaki, this bonsai can be made into your very own original shape by shifting the pieces.

I love these cast iron paperweights. Originally made in Japan in the middle of the seventeenth century these are beautiful examples of traditional Japanese crafts. Available in assorted styles and shapes, these handmade pieces are sure to be treasured.
