26 Olive Street

I recently discovered 26 Olive Street, a great online vintage housewares shop. I am a sucker for anything involving decorative vintage pieces and they are definitely a great resource for finding something unique to adorn your mantle top or bookshelf. With everything from beautifully preserved glassware to one of a kind antique signs, 26 Olive Street will have something for everybody! Along with fab products, 26 Olive Street also takes some great product shots- making it fun to peruse their constantly updated selection. Check out the website to read their
blog, find out about new additions and of course SHOP!

Although, I am not a smoker this Fly Ashtray is way too cool to pass up. Elevated brass fly features hinged wings to reveal ashtray, or use it to hide your secret treasures!

For some reason I have always loved vintage melamine dishes. I am not a fan of eating off plastic- but these dishes would be perfect for a picnic and a bottle of wine on a warm Spring day! Set includes four divided plates (no touching food, please! ) and matching cups.

Textured decanter set. I love the typography on this set. Perfect to add to your vintage glassware collection. Cute!

Branch @ Home

Happy Friday! Thought I would kick off the weekend with a new feature here at the Peacock... One of the inspirations behind our pillowcase collection over at Branch Handmade is my background as an interior designer. I have always loved the home and especially decorating a bedroom. Sometime people get stuck in a rut, using the same bedding or duvet set they had had forever and I thought it would be fun to create a versatile collection of screen printed pillowcases that you could add in with new or existing bedding to breath new life into your space and give you something new to look at!

We have had so many lovely customers send over pics of how they are using our pillowcases and other Branch pieces in their own spaces. Knowing how much I enjoy seeing the different ways they are used, I thought I would start a new feature here: "Branch @ Home." I love the way Laura used our Tree Silhouette Pillowcases mixed in with her bright and cheerful quilt! So pretty and simple! Thanks so much, Laura! You can pick up a pair of the Tree Pillowcases of your own right here.

**If you have purchased some of our pieces and would like to be featured send us an email!

Spring Gardening

Although the weather is feeling pretty close to wintery out today, we did some spring cleaning of the garden over the weekend which got me very excited for the impending spring planting season both indoors and out. Cleaning up the mess left by the winter winds- dead leaves and over grown grasses always brings a sense of newness, like everything is starting over and it also inspires me to bring more outdoors in- more fresh flowers and potted plants to bring a cheerful vibe that we have the summer months to look forward to! I can definitely imagine myself hanging around in this comfy sling chair admiring a beautiful garden and basking in the summer sun.

If your not much when it comes to gardening or maybe you live in a city and don't have the luxury of a garden, check out Monkey's Always Look. They send you a ready made kit with easy to care for succulents, organic potting soil and a variety of cute, vintage containers to pot them in. I love this cute vintage toffee tin. Perfect!

I have been eyeing up these modular window boxes since last summer. I really like window boxes, but I always feel like they have a country, traditional vibe to them. I really love this particular one because it has a simple, clean design to it and you can add brightly colored pots to create your own unique collection. Perfect for our herb garden!

XO Organic Tote Bag

Happy Monday! Had a great and productive weekend! Just wanted to share a new piece that we created. We are working on rolling out a new line of 100% organic cotton tote bags. I am a big fan of tote bags- especially in the heat of the Spring and Summer. For some reason it just seems like the perfect time to ditch that heavy leather bag you have been carrying all winter and grab something casual that you can easily throw in the wash. We are working on new designs that we will be putting out this week, but for you now you can pick up this sweet XO Organic Cotton Bag right now in our shop.

Gold and Glistening

On a day like today with the rain pounding the window and the dreary grey sky taking over my normally bright studio, all I want is a little bit of sunshine to lift my mood. I guess maybe I was inspired by dreams of a sunny day and thats why all these glistening gold pieces really tickled my fancy today. I have always had a thing for metallics in interiors- it always seemed like the perfect bit of shiny jewelry to set off a collection or the ideal element of surprise on a coffee table. I'm loving this Punched Metal Stool featured above. These little guys do double duty with removable lids for storage while acting as a great little side table. You can pick them up here.

Designed by Parisian designing duo Tse & Tse, this big, beautiful bowl is finished in a clear glaze on the outside while the inside shimmers in a delectable gold. Lovely!

This beautiful pendent lamp would add sculptural sophistication to any room. Made from mouth blown Murano glass and finished in mirrored gold. Made exquisitely in Italy.

You can never have too much additional seating in a room, especially when its as adorable as this! I love traditional Moroccan poufs in a room- they add such a casual, comfortable air. These cool pieces take the pouf to the next level outfitted in a sleek metallic silver or gold.

Product Spotlight: Spanish Endearment Necklace

I have been coveting these sweet Spanish Endearment Necklaces from jewelry designer Anne Kiel. I have a thing for simple gold or brass charm necklaces, my favorite that I wear all the time is a simple gold circular "a" pendent, but these might be good to switch it with. I am particularly fond of the "Besame" one... Hmmm, maybe my purchase for the week! Also available in French terms, if that's more your thing. Take a peek at all the beautiful baubles available in Anne's etsy shop here.

Fox and Clover

I love the pieces created by Sabrina for Fox and Clover. She makes absolutely beautiful dishes and delicate jewelry pieces. Not only does she hand illustrate the delightfully whimsical designs on all of her table wear and jewelry, but much of it is created from reclaimed old windows and picture frame glass. You would never know it by looking at her work! Click here for the Wild Horse Dish featured above.

Being an animal lover, anything decorated with nature or wildlife is something that I would love! I have long admired these Fox and Hare Mini Bowls. I love the bright chartreuse color coupled with the simple white animals.

Pretty and simple Paisley Necklace. Handpainted paisley pendent hung from a modern natural steel cord.

I love this Whale Dish! Perfectly sized for a bar of soap in the bath or odds and ends that clutter up your bureau.

Spring Springing?

I was out walking the dogs this morning and it was one of those perfect brisk, spring air mornings. I even noticed some buds starting to come out on the trees! The air was cool, but not cold and the perfect morning light was shining- beckoning me to take some new product shots.

The nautical bar towels were such a hit, that I decided to build on that and make some adorable anchor place mats. Got some great shots this morning! They will be available for purchase in our shop later today.

Snow Day!

Well we got hit by a surprise snow storm last night and this morning. Todd got to stay home from work, so even though I had some work to take care of we took Olive and Pixel to play in the snow. Its the most its ever snowed since we have lived on this coast and the dogs certainly enjoyed. Pixie had a blast easting snowballs and digging, everytime I go into the backyard she emerges from a "snow hole" with her face covered in white. I have some fabulous store and product highlights to share- so stay tuned the rest of week, after the storm has passed...

The snow almost covers Pix in the backyard.

Todd throwing snow balls for Pixie to catch... brain freeze anyone??
