Horse Hanger

There is something about horse related home decor that gets me every time. Throw in a coat of chartreuse paint and I am sold! I could think of about a million uses for this great looking vintage horse hanger- kitchen towel holder, bathroom hook, front door adornment... Salvaged from an antique shop, sanded and re-finished with a a bright coat of paint this guy is ready for his new home! Check out Squirrel and Monkey for more fabulous iron pieces and more!

Have a great weekend! xo

Chakra Pennywhistle

I have been a fan of Chakra Pennywhistle for awhile now and it seems that each new collection gets better than the last! Currently made up of three collections: recycled, handmade and organic, Chakra Pennywhistle creates an array of home products- mainly pillows inspired by everything from nature to early american decor. My favorites are the pillows recycled from vintage money bags shown above. Shop her etsy store right here.

Adorable Rooster Dish Towel. Made from natural unbleached cotton, this towel is large enough to double as an apron or as an oversized dish towel.

Loving this simple throw pillow. Made from organic cotton twill and stuffed with raw organic cotton, the design for this pillow was hand drawn and printed with a water based ink. So elegant and clean!

This Is Not Ikea

I discovered This Is Not Ikea when I was on the hunt for unique and bargain priced outdoor vintage furniture for our deck. I really wanted things that were one of a kind, not pieces that I would go to my friends' houses and see in their yard too! This Is Not Ikea was created on the premise that for the same amount of money that you spend at Ikea on things that will fall apart and are mass produced you can get a beautiful vintage piece that is quality and that has (and will) stand the test of time. They really do have an amazing selection, and the fact that it constantly changes is an incentive to visit often! (fiberglass chairs, vintage alarm clock, vintage wet floor sign)

The Vintage Supply Co

Happy Friday, everyone! Sorry for the light posting this week- we have been crazed!

Just discovered this great little Etsy vintage and fell in love! I am a sucker for great vintage pieces and The Vintage Supply Co has some great pieces to wear and also to furnish the home- one stop shop- gotta love it! Perfect 1950's mesh patio chairs featured above.

I absolutely adore lighting and 60's pop lighting can't be beat. Add it to any decor and you instantly have a bright spot in your room. Check out this vintage orange ceramic swag lamp, love the color!

Loving these 1940's black bouncer chairs. They have such a great look to them- clean, but whimsical at the same time.

Cleveland Art

I am always on the look out for great resources for unique home furnishings. Los Angeles company Cleveland Art is a great place to find pieces that you won't easily stumble upon elsewhere. Created in 1994 by Jason Wein, Cleveland Art was born out of his experience working in his families salvage yard. Jason saw the potential of industrial machinery being recycled and used for a functional purpose in the home or business. I have always loved the look of hard edged industrial pieces in the home, especially mixed in with other design styles.

I love the look of this vintage wood bench on casters. Would make a great addition to an entry hall or the living room.

Fantastic coat rack and bench combo. I am in love with this piece! Great organizational tool and features pull out cubbies for all those dog leashes, shoes and random bits that can clutter up your space.

Vintage cart with maple top. I would love this in a kitchen to use instead of your traditional island. Great way to add some character to a room.

Bright and White

Morning, friends! Hope everyone enjoyed a lovely, relaxed weekend... Looking outside the bright, clear white morning light is inspiring me to lean toward clean, white goodies! I am loving this sweet deer frame purse made from 100% cotton canvas with the adorable image hand embroidered. Created by Barcelona based Emedemarte.

I just discovered and fell in love with this great clothing line, Lamixx, created by designer Jacqueline Rose. With a layed back California chic vibe that is right up my alley- they create relaxed basics that are easy to wear and easy to mix in with pieces that you already have. There are so many pieces to love, but I really fell for this oversized pinstripe button down. Perfect for summer or easy to wear with tights in colder months, this piece will quicky become a wardrobe staple. Love it!

Almost time to get those plants going! I am a big lover of plants and gardens, but I have a weakness for vintage planters- they are the perfect thing to call attention to your greenery. Here is a unique a kooky moon crater planter. And $12? Can't beat it! Pick it up here.

Beachy Keen

The weather today is amazing and only supposed to get better as the weekend progresses... I just returned from my beach cruise to the post office to drop off the days orders and was inspired by the salty ocean breeze and all the local beach shops and ice cream parlors putting out their awnings and products in preparation for the nice weekend- I knew I needed a sea inspired collection to round out the week! I am so loving Marc Jacobs' new foray into swimwear, especially the cute one piece above- anything with a fish is okay with me!

Awesome vintage botany sea creatures design. This is a cool downloadable design- pay one low price and you can reuse this design over and over again for art projects, wrapping, paper, cards! I think it would look great simply framed for a low cost art piece.

Catch of the Day pendent necklace or super cute vintage octopus pendent. Both would look great with a simple white tee for the summer heat!

I love this green Fly Fisherman Vintage stationary- especially paired with the canary yellow cards. I can picture myself sitting out on the dock writing thank you notes with these cuties!

Have a fabulous weekend!~ The Lacquered Peacock xo

Product Spotlight: Mustache Tea Cup and Saucer

Well I would say TGIF, but am feeling a bit under the weather today and this gray rainy sky outside is not helping... Even the dogs are feeling lazy, sleeping the day away under my old afghan. I have been drinking a lot of tea to stave off the damp chill of the day and this repurposed vintage teacup from Surya Sajnani would be just the thing to brighten my mood. A hand painted mustache decorates the "fronts" of this delicate teacup and saucer set with a pretty gold rim. Check out the shop right here to see what other great repurposed finds are in store... Have a great weekend!

Textured decanter set. I love the typography on this set. Perfect to add to your vintage glassware collection. Cute!

Knack Studios

If you are looking for that perfectly distinct piece that fits just the right spot in your home look no further than Greenville, SC's Knack Studios. Created by the fabulously talented and wonderfully sweet Barb Blair, Knack Studios takes salvaged and vintage furniture pieces and restores and resurfaces them, often with unrecognizable results. With a flair for great color and pattern combinations, Barb easily takes something that was once trash and makes it a unique heirloom treasure. If you are in the area be sure to stop by Knack and find that perfect one of kind piece and if your not you can enjoy Knack from afar via Barb's great blog and website.

There are so many beautiful items, its hard to pick favorites! This bright orange piece is a real stunner! Featuring sliding glass doors to house and display your special dish ware and accented with the perfect turquoise knobs. There are too many places this little gem could fit! Check out the before right here.

I am loving the detailing on this turquoise beauty! Great dresser to use as a centerpiece in a living room or the conventional way in a bedroom- though personally I would have hard time hiding away something so stunning in my bedroom!

Pretty and simple, I love the quiet finish on this piece. Goes well with all kinds of decor and those white diamond shaped knobs add just the right amount of fancy!

Erica Weiner Jewelry

I have been a fan of Erica Weiner Jewelry for a long time, but I just discovered that she had a shop on Etsy.  Based out of Manhattan, Erica began designing jewelry in 2005 with an emphasis on creating pieces that were made from antique and vintage pieces. Her pieces have a wonderful non-precious aspect to them that makes them both wearable and treasurable. I think thats the part I like most about them- they look rich in history in their antiquity, but because she uses antique and vintage findings she is able to keep the price reasonable. Click here for the oversized plastic studs featured above.

These  rose gold plated mesh bracelets are something I have my eye one. I have always been a fan of rose gold, I love the femininity of it and that mixed with the delicate mesh and clasps are absolute perfection.

Fabulous YSL enamel zipper pull earrings. I love the thought process that went into these. Navy Rectangles emblazoned with the classic YSL logo in a pretty copper are destined for some very stylish ears!

Orphan Annie Bracelet. Original medallions used for promotion of Ovaltine (yum, used to love Ovaltine as a kid!) in the 30's decorate this chunky chain.

Crow Biz

I have been a fan of Crow Biz for awhile- I love the simple line drawings of vintage items as well as the layered art that is being created. You will find a fantastic array of items, ranging from glass magnets and hair barrettes to pendents and unique prints. Click here for the collection of magnets featured above.

I adore this Ostrich on Opera Text print. Part if a series of images on salvaged book pages. Printed on a synopsis of the opera "Thais."

Beautiful Medieval Scribe Paperweight. Felt backed, the image comes from a 1933 bookseller's catalog of medieval books and manuscripts.

Brightly colored vintage British Postage Stamp magnets. Perfect to hold all the important notes on the fridge!

Blue Bell Bazaar

As we our impending move creeps closer the interior designer in me is screaming to get out; envisioning our next living space. We haven't even begun a house search and yet I am already decorating in my mind! One great little etsy shop that I discovered is Blue Bell Bazaar- they have a beautiful and elegant selection of vintage pieces that, in my opinion, breath the perfect bit of airy whimsy into a room. I am eagerly anticipating my upcoming purchases- I might just have to buy the shop out! Click here to purchase the vintage fish box featured above.

I love this vintage Gentleman Jar. Perfect to fill with all my colored pencils in the office, an array of white soaps in the bathroom...I'm a sucker for clear glass jars and vases and I especially love this one with the funky sticker on it!

I've got my eye on this vintage wire basket- great to fill with all my back issues of Domino, Elle Decor and Living Etc.

I need this vintage sign for the studio!

Trixie Delicious

I can't believe how cold it is today! To look on the bright side, the cold really lends itself to endless cups of hot beverages... tea, coffee, hot chocolate! Pick your poison! Whatever you decide on, a hot beverage is always better when it is consumed in a cute and stylish mug or cup and the "vandalized vintage" pieces of Trixie Delicious perfectly fit the bill! I love Seven Deadly Sins Coffee/Tea Set featured above. Vintage 1960's mugs in assorted colors with text added depicting the seven deadly sins. Click here to browse her etsy shop.

I have also been loving this Trash Mug from afar. I love the retro orange stripe on the saucer and the shape of the mug is perfect.

I discovered this cool online vintage shop awhile ago, and I have been searching for the site again to post it here. Its taken awhile, but luckily here it is! I love these cool milk glass zodiac mugs. Featuring a matte black glaze and gold graphics, these mugs make the perfect gift, just pick out the correct astrological sign!

Sweet swedish glass ducks. Created in a stunning cobalt blue glass, these cute objects evoke a serene quality. Perfect for a sunny window sill for the sunshine to shine on!

I have always had a thing for vintage clocks and this one is perfect! This one reminds of a 1950's newsman, can't you just imagine the impeccable top hat and skinny tie? Featuring glow in the dark hand.
