Morning All! Just wanted to give you all a sneak peek of some designs we have cooking... Inspired by photos we took at a local antique store we have the new Chandelier design coming out as well as the Gilded Birdcage. The Gilded Birdcage throw pillow cover is available at our shop here, and the chandelier should be available soon. Along with the housewares, we are also working on these with some new apparel pieces including an adorable jersey skirt and linen tunic- perfect for the impending hot months! Happy shopping!

Cleveland Art
I am always on the look out for great resources for unique home furnishings. Los Angeles company Cleveland Art is a great place to find pieces that you won't easily stumble upon elsewhere. Created in 1994 by Jason Wein, Cleveland Art was born out of his experience working in his families salvage yard. Jason saw the potential of industrial machinery being recycled and used for a functional purpose in the home or business. I have always loved the look of hard edged industrial pieces in the home, especially mixed in with other design styles.
I love the look of this vintage wood bench on casters. Would make a great addition to an entry hall or the living room.
Fantastic coat rack and bench combo. I am in love with this piece! Great organizational tool and features pull out cubbies for all those dog leashes, shoes and random bits that can clutter up your space.
Vintage cart with maple top. I would love this in a kitchen to use instead of your traditional island. Great way to add some character to a room.

Alicia Bock
Photography is most definitely one of my favorite forms of artistic expression. A good photographer is a good storyteller and can make magic from an object that may appear to others as being mundane or typical. It is for these reasons that I am entranced by the work of Alicia Bock. Her photographs have a wonderful vintage feel to it and looking at it takes you on a trip to another time- where things are a little less face paced and life was simple... I am loving all her summer inspired pieces right now- and the best part is that her pieces are priced affordably, some even under $20! "End" featured above.
"Hush" is part of Alicia's "Through the Viewfinder" series in which she combined an Argus 75 viewfinder camera as well as a digital camera to create a soft looking, imperfect photograph. I love this !
"This is a Memory" was taken with an antique sx-70 poloroid. Layered with typewritten text.

Bright and White
Morning, friends! Hope everyone enjoyed a lovely, relaxed weekend... Looking outside the bright, clear white morning light is inspiring me to lean toward clean, white goodies! I am loving this sweet deer frame purse made from 100% cotton canvas with the adorable image hand embroidered. Created by Barcelona based Emedemarte.
I just discovered and fell in love with this great clothing line, Lamixx, created by designer Jacqueline Rose. With a layed back California chic vibe that is right up my alley- they create relaxed basics that are easy to wear and easy to mix in with pieces that you already have. There are so many pieces to love, but I really fell for this oversized pinstripe button down. Perfect for summer or easy to wear with tights in colder months, this piece will quicky become a wardrobe staple. Love it!
Almost time to get those plants going! I am a big lover of plants and gardens, but I have a weakness for vintage planters- they are the perfect thing to call attention to your greenery. Here is a unique a kooky moon crater planter. And $12? Can't beat it! Pick it up here.

Beachy Keen
The weather today is amazing and only supposed to get better as the weekend progresses... I just returned from my beach cruise to the post office to drop off the days orders and was inspired by the salty ocean breeze and all the local beach shops and ice cream parlors putting out their awnings and products in preparation for the nice weekend- I knew I needed a sea inspired collection to round out the week! I am so loving Marc Jacobs' new foray into swimwear, especially the cute one piece above- anything with a fish is okay with me!
Awesome vintage botany sea creatures design. This is a cool downloadable design- pay one low price and you can reuse this design over and over again for art projects, wrapping, paper, cards! I think it would look great simply framed for a low cost art piece.
Catch of the Day pendent necklace or super cute vintage octopus pendent. Both would look great with a simple white tee for the summer heat!
I love this green Fly Fisherman Vintage stationary- especially paired with the canary yellow cards. I can picture myself sitting out on the dock writing thank you notes with these cuties!
Have a fabulous weekend!~ The Lacquered Peacock xo

Tuath na Mara House
Who doesn't dream of a private get-a-way in the remote countryside of beautiful Ireland? Mix isolation, natural beauty and modern architecture and you get my personal idea of heaven. Take a look at the stunning Tuath na Mara house, designed by Mac Gabhann Architects. This house was built in Lough Swilly, Donegal in Ireland an area known for its wildlife, animals including dolphins, sea birds and swans. With its expansive windows and open feeling- this house is ideally suited to enjoying the breathtaking nature that surrounds it.

Product Spotlight: BH Orchid Pant
So, we were finally gifted with an amazing weekend here weather wise and its about time!!! With a beautiful 70+ degree day, TK and I decided to take the opportunity to go take some pics of our new Orchid Print Eco Pant at the beach. Bringing along our furry friends, Pixel and Olive may not have been such a smart idea because before I knew it Pixel had pulled me (and our new pant design) into the water. Luckily the weather was warm and it all ended with us getting some great product shots of the new style! You can pick up a pair of your own, right here- and don't worry, as always, yours will be brand new, never have gone for an ocean swim!

Dream Home
Happy Friday! To switch gears a bit, I wanted to feature this lovely mid century modern LA home that I found while perusing the fabulous blog Desire To Inspire. TK and I have spent more hours that I can count looking at real estate here in the NY/NJ area, and so much of what we see leaves much to be desired! Being a California girl, the California modern architecture is what appeals to me- wide open entertaining spaces and light, bright, expansive windows and post and beam construction is always a bonus, so when I saw this house I said "I want it!" Check out the full listing here, maybe you can envision yourself living here too!

Doloris Petunia
Morning all! Its an ugly, rainy morning here at the beach and the lovely accessories designer Doloris Petunia is just the perfect bit of jeweled sparkle to add a bit of brightness to your day. I am always a fan of necklaces- I used to love bracelets and rings, but now that I am always working with my hands those baubles are all but gone in favor of accessories that I am not constantly taking on and off! Specializing in eye catching statement pieces, Doloris Petunia creates amazing necklaces and elaborate head pieces, both of which I love. The beautiful Copper and Gold necklace above is what initially caught my eye. Perfect with a simple tank for the summer, love it!
Fabulous Amber Necklace. I love the sparkling glass and rhinestone beads mixd with the fabulous vintage finds, so pretty and unique!
Along with statement necklaces, Doloris Petunia also creates beautiful head pieces, from the feather piece featured above to the candy colored Mermaid Rhinestone headband. So pretty and unique.

Product Spotlight: Playmates Pillow
The LAMA store is always a great stop to peruse over morning coffee and toast. I am loving this adorable Playmates Pillow by Argentinean design duo Coty Larguia and Eugenia Troncoso. Featuring simple, sketchy illustrations on 100% cotton, the pillows in this collection are perfect for many spaces and give an air of fine art on textiles as if an ink pen was drawn directly on the pillow.

Hettle
Hi guys! Sorry for being MIA all week- lots of excitement going on (I'll fill you in later on the details..) keeping me busy away from the blog. For my first and last *sorry* post of the week I wanted to take a moment to highlight a new pillow designer I discovered, Hettle. Unlike your ordinary, everyday throw pillow Hettle creates beautiful, sophisticated pieces filled with texture and romance. I can so picture these on a bed or sofa, better yet a sun filled window seat... Yumm!! Check out their great little shop right here.
Love this blue stripe ruffle pillow. Very unexpected combination which I am loving.
Very cute sweet rosette jersey pillow. Adorable! I love the clean color and machine washable too!

Product Spotlight: Mustache Tea Cup and Saucer
Well I would say TGIF, but am feeling a bit under the weather today and this gray rainy sky outside is not helping... Even the dogs are feeling lazy, sleeping the day away under my old afghan. I have been drinking a lot of tea to stave off the damp chill of the day and this repurposed vintage teacup from Surya Sajnani would be just the thing to brighten my mood. A hand painted mustache decorates the "fronts" of this delicate teacup and saucer set with a pretty gold rim. Check out the shop right here to see what other great repurposed finds are in store... Have a great weekend!

Yes, I know you might be a wee bit "poufed out" here at the Peacock, but I couldn't resist this fabulous little knitted pouf. I love the color and the great idea. Very unexpected.
FLOCKS also has a great little fashion collection. Including the mittens featured above, hats, cardigans, scarfs etc. All made from a variety of luxurious knitted material. Perfect for bundeling!
