Angela Adams

Good morning! It is a blustery, grey and snowy day here this morning, but these fantastic, colorful pieces from Angela Adams' new collection are sure to brighten anyone's day! I have been a big fan of her textiles for a long time, but I think her new collection of floor coverings is especially inspired. You can check out all the goods here, including new apparel and select, lovely furniture pieces. I am in l0ve with the textured Flora/Peony Rug featured above.

The prints and shapes of the Manfred collection of pillows is so great! I love the retro, bright feel- would look great just about anywhere! Available in three distinct shapes.

These totes are perfect for carrying around town or on a trip. Featuring the distinct Angela Adams patterns and color. Made of silk screened canvas and handles long enough to go over the shoulder.

Check out this bright 2' x 3' rug, perfect for an entry! On sale too! I love the colors and made from soft 100% cotton.

Fantastic gift idea! I love this Eva Solo Self Watering Pot. Perfect for your friend or family member that is always traveling and their poor plants suffer the fate of dehydration. Features a set of self watering wicks that draw the water from the glass base into the soil.

We have featured these ventless fireplaces before, but I really like the shape of this Blomus Fireplace. Perfect for compact living!

On this freezing, windy day (its 8 degrees with the windchill!) I am about to make a big pot of tea for the rest of the afternoon. This pot would be perfect- nice to look at and does its job!

I happened upon a new home decor website Bobby Berk Home. They carry a wide ranging selection of goods, mainly focused on modern favorites like Dwell Studio, Gus Modern and Not Neutral. They have clean and easy to maneuver website, I especially like the eco- friendly section and the gift section with items grouped by price range is nice especially with the impending holiday season fast approaching. Click here for the regal Greyhound Linen Pillow by Thomas Paul featured above.

I love this chandelier wall light. Perfect for adding ambiance to a room, and you get a piece of art out of it too! Made by DuffyLondon and available in two size options.

Check out this cool stackable storage cube. Perfect for storing toys and books. I love the retro vibe with the star cut out. Best part is they are made completely out of recycled wood without formaldehyde laden MDF.

New designs from Thomas Paul. Have a look at the Sarah Linen Pillow in beet. I love the color and the bohemian feel.

They really run the gamut in covering anything you might need to furnish a modern home. The site is very clean and easy to maneuver and categorized either by brand or subject. Exclusively Home also offers a selection of budget friendly replica modern classic designs. Another great thing about Exclusively Home is that they are a US based company and a large number of the brands they offer are also American based companies. Click here for the polypropylene outdoor runner featured above, these runners are great on a porch or deck to add a little interest to outdoor living spaces.

By now you are all aware of my undying dog affection so it will come as no surprise that I love this Lisa Masterson designed rug for Chandra Rugs. Made of hand tufted New Zealand wool this cute rug would look great in any room.

I love this adorable pillow by KoKo Company. Reminiscent of a vintage print, this 100% cotton pillow is too cute to pass up!

I love this shade from Mibo for 2Jane. 2Jane is a great company because they partner with individual designers to create great looking prints and designs to manufacture on their products. Many of their products feature graphics that take their inspiration from everything from japanese kimono to 50's record covers. I bet this shade would look amazing lit up...

Great retro inspired coffee, cream and sugar set. Featuring a black and white ribbon design, this great set is perfect for getting you moving in the morning.

Check out the Your Best Shot bedding by Luxury Lab Linens. I love the bright colors and also how the pattern on the bedspread is off kilter. Don't miss the archers on the shams...

Feel More Human

Go shopping at Feel More Human and you can feel like you are doing something toward living a more sustainable lifestyle. Feel More Human is a great online shop that mixes modern living with a more eco-friendly aesthetic. They know that we can't always make perfectly sustainable choices all the time, but they try and keep their customers inspired and informed about things that you can do. Feel More Human strives to create a place where people can shop modern, well designed products with a company whose business practices are grounded in responsibility. While shopping their great products, take some time and read their blog devoted to eco- friendly living, products and more. Click here for the awesome 303 Chair featured above.

I love Juice Beauty's facial products. They are all organic, smell delicious and do their job. Can't ask for more than that! I also love their packaging- simple and bright. The Organics To Go kit is a great starter kit that comes with a luxe, organic bamboo washcloth.

I adore the simple design and classic styling of the Gus Modern designed Spencer Chair. Although this piece is definitely more expensive than say your average chair from West Elm or CB2, this is a quality investment piece that you will keep forever instead of filling our landfills with inexpensive, disposable furniture. A great eco-choice!

I was interested in this piece, as it was labeled "Eco-Lighting." This lighting collection was designed by Roland Simmons and looks beautiful. The shades are a DuraSilk shade which is an environmentally friendly material made out post industrial polyethylene resin. Available in different heights.

Zinc Details

While living in San Francisco, by far one of my favorite stores to visit was Zinc Details. Light and airy, Zinc Details not only provided a modern and clean respite from the rest of the world, but also an inspiring and fun collection of everything from barware and furniture to flooring and personal accessories. It would never fail that I would walk out of there with some modern goodness for a gift or (on a good day!) for myself. Now, living away from the city by the bay I am glad they have a great online presence where I can continue to shop their fantastic selection! Click here for the blu dot rocker featured above.

Whenever I shopped at Zinc Details, I always admired this Uten Silo Board and couldn't wait for the day that this great piece would hang on my office wall. Perfect for any room to help with organization, I always pictured it filled with colored pencils, pens, scissors and all those other office goodies!

This glass teapot has and continues to be a favorite design of mine. The 1920's Bauhaus design is timeless and delicate and the pyrex glass withholds the heat. My favorite part of this teapot is watching as the tea diffuses through the water. Amazing!

How funny are these Pizza plates? Check them out here

Velocity Art and Design

Velocity is one of my favorite online stores for anything modern and fabulous for the home. They have an amazing looking space in Seattle, WA that I am dying to visit, but until then the online destination will have to quench my thirst! Velocity is committed to providing a unique and diverse selection of home products that are a standard of quality, luxury and beauty. Check out their amazing products online or if you are in the Seattle area stop by 251 Yale Avenue North and let me know how it is! Check out the Molos Soft Wall above here.

Wow, wow, wow! That is all I can say for this amazing architectural piece. Created by design duo Egawa + Zbryk, this Puzzle Screen was featured in the 2001 I.D Magazine's Annual Design Review. I can just picture this in an open loft as a divider in the space. Available in birch or powder coated steel in either white or black.

How cool is this flip clock with 84 original drawings by Yoshitomo Nara for Cerealart! As each hour passes a new image is revealed.

Love this bright colored Mororso Nest Armchair! Perfect for an outdoor balcony or intimate garden, the eye popping color will definitely be noticed amongst shady plants.

Nestliving

Nestliving is a fun little studio located in Jacksonville, Fl. with a great looking, clean and simple online store. They feature all types of modern products from  furniture pieces by Vitra and lighting by Le Klint to graphic tea towels by Ferm Living. A great feature of their site is a section that categorizes everything by price so you can search for items under twenty-five dollars if you like. Check them out here or in Florida @ 1020 Park Street.  See the fantastic Cavern designed wallpaper featured above,  here

We are big fans of our Tivoli radio, so I had to include this great looking modern and simple Tivoli design. If your not familiar with Tivoli, they honestly have the most amazing sound and they make a wide variety of designs that include ones that can be easily taken on trips. I love the contrasting maple wood and teal of this design, check out all the great designs here

You can never miss with stripes and the same can be said for table linens by Unison! I love the look of this tablecloth, it looks like a mans shirt or a comfortable bed sheet... mix it up with some bright dishes and you have a table ready for a gathering!
Wow, now this is what I call a first car! Check out this amazing (and amazingly priced...) children's toy car. The design is based on the the very first Saab and outfitted with wood and metal steering wheel and wheels. Now this is a toy that you don't need to hide when company comes over!

Re:modern

If your looking for fun, sustainable products, make sure to check out Re:modern, a great online source that strives to "bring good design to the masses." Re:modern is not only a great resource because they are focused on offering innovative, well designed items at reasonable prices, but they also work to maintain and establish partnerships with emerging designers, so they have products that you won't necessarily find through other retailers.  Check out the cool wool trivets above, right here

Some of my favorite pieces available at Re:modern are:

The PJ Storage Pillow by Modern Twist. How innovative? Check out this great item, inspired by Japanese anemone boxes (which were used once upon a time to hold family heirlooms). These storage pillows are hand made and meant to look like a beautiful pillow, but with a twist of the lid, it opens to reveal a secret hiding place for everything from blankets to toys.

The beautiful and simple, Embroidered Branch Purse. I love the simplicity and the quiet of this hand embroidered purse. Made of raffia and cotton, this bag has handles made of  carved and polished wood and is fair trade and sweatshop free. Check out both the serene blue and green colors available.
Deep Pile Bamboo Shag Rug. I am a huge rug fan, there is nothing like curling up on a soft plushy rug with a blanket in front of a fire and when I saw this rug I was instantly imagining how soft it must feel! This rug looks amazing and the bamboo fibers apparently have a sheen like chenille when they are rolled to create a shag. I have to admit I was not aware of the bamboo shag rug, but on my next flooring purchase, this will be high on the list of possibilities!

Greener Grass Design is a design oriented Houston, TX based online store that carries everything from bedding and jewelry to furniture and lighting. Many of their products are created by independent designers and you can also find great sustainable and organic products on their site. Their product categories pretty much cover the gamut and you can definitely find something to suit anybody's taste. Some of their designers include Bob's Your Uncle, Amenity and Thomas Paul. The link for the beautiful Tord Boontje and Emma Woofenden Glass above right here .

Some items I might have to pick up from Greener Grass Design:

Really cool looking and would be gorgeous as a tabletop centerpiece. Definitely catches your eye!

I couldn't resist this wall mounted coat hanger made out of powder coated steel. A modern lodge look at its finest! Check it out here.
